Hypnotherapy for Insomnia

Insomnia Hypnosis Cardiff
Many people with insomnia often believe that they are “Insomniacs”; and generally predisposed to insomnia. For others, believe it or not, their experience of a sleepless night is nothing more than a dream! Dreaming they are awake, when in reality they are sound asleep. Every living organism has an active and a dormant period, therefore, sleep is natural, and insomnia is not.

Sleep is something every body needs as it plays a vital role in the repair and growth of new cells, without this deep meaningful sleep, both our physical and mental health will suffer. But, sleeping problems, such as insomnia, can make it difficult for some people to get enough sleep.

Generally speaking,  insomnia is caused by an underlying anxiety which can be about, wayward offspring, pending redundancy, retirement, finances or indeed anything that plays on your mind which you cannot switch off from. Having said this all people are different, and need a different approach to heal.   Hypnotherapy for Insomnia works extremely well, by discovering the underlying cause of the insomnia and thus removing it once and for all. Restoring your sleep pattern to what is should be.

Sleepwalking and Lady Macbeth

“Out, damned spot! out, I say!–One: two: why,
then, ’tis time to do’t” walked in her sleep rubbing her hands in an effort to wash away the imaginary blood from the King. Here we see subconscious guilt as a driving force behind the action of sleepwalking.

What is Insomnia?

Insomnia can come in one of two forms. Possibly the most common form of insomnia is called Acute Insomnia and can last from a few days to a couple of weeks, generally triggered by some anxiety in a persons life. Moving home, redundancy, wayward offspring for example.
Once the stressor has been dealt with this problem soon resorts back to normal sleep.

The other is called chronic insomnia or persistent insomnia , this is where you are awake several nights a week and just cant get back to sleep. This happens if you have been suffering from insomnia for more than three months. People with insomnia will possibly have at least one of the following symptoms.

  • Difficulty falling asleep
  • Waking up often during the night and having trouble going back to sleep
  • Racing thoughts
  • Not feeling well-rested after a night’s sleep
  • Daytime tiredness or sleepiness
  • Irritability, depression or anxiety
  • Difficulty paying attention, focusing on tasks or remembering
  • More accident-prone
  • Ongoing worries about sleep
  • Waking up during the night
  • Waking up too early in the morning
  • Un-refreshing sleep

If you suffer from any of the above it is likely you awake feeling refreshed, resulting in a lethargic, irritable, unproductive day.  Many clients also report dreading night time and the struggle to sleep. If this sounds like you, then we hope we can help through our Insomnia Hypnotherapy.

NHS recommends hypnosis to aid restful sleep:

Insomnia Hypnosis Cardiff – the law of reversed effort

Do you feel tired when you go to bed, but then find yourself tossing and turning. Is your mind racing with thoughts and emotions of your day? What went wrong and how it might continue tomorrow and for a time to come?
Perhaps you drift off easily enough and sleep soundly for a couple of hours and then, wide awake!
A night of sound sleep can do wonders for the mind and body. Insomnia and habitual sleeplessness affect millions of individuals and can lead to other medical conditions such as anxiety, depression, and illness. Sleep disorders prevent individuals from falling asleep and if untreated, typically get worse with time. As a basic human necessity, getting adequate sleep each night is essential to personal health.

Five tips to beat insomnia:

  1. Speak kindly to yourself as you settle down to sleep.
  2. Reduce napping throughout the day as much as possible.
  3. Do not eat or drink right before going to bed, allow time for digestion to take place.
  4. Keep a note pad and pen beside your bed to write down your thoughts.
  5. Use a Free sleep MP3 like the one below.

Do not play while driving, operating machinery or doing anything that requires your attention.

Hypnosis is completely harmless, it is positively beneficial and with a non-addictive power for good. Can the same be said about sleeping tablets?

Just put on your headphones, settle down into a comfortable position, close your eyes and get ready for the best nights sleep of your life ever.

  • Beta frequencies (14 to 30 Hz) have been associated with increased concentration and alertness, problem solving, and improved memory.

  • Theta (4 to 8 Hz) range are linked to REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, reduced anxiety, relaxation, meditative also creative states.
  • Delta (1 to 4 Hz) range have been associated with deep sleep and relaxation.  All four binaural frequencies are used in this Sleep Like  A Baby mp3. I have designed it like to so that natural sleep will be induced and produce the best nights sleep ever.

Can Hypnosis help with insomnia?

Some drugs, alcohol, as well as poor general health, can affect sleep but our minds psychologically can also have a big effect, which can make the difference between a good night’s sleep and a bad one.

Here at Hypnosis Cardiff I help a wide range of people suffering from sleep problems. Whether you have experienced insomnia from childhood or more recently. Poor sleep can be triggered during a stressful time and remain even though the stressful period has elapsed.

Hypnosis Cardiff offers a gentle and effective approach to remedy poor or bad sleep.  It is not uncommon for a client of mine, who has been an insomniac for the past 20 years or more, to find relief through my approach.

Hypnosis communicates directly with the ‘unconscious’ part of your mind where it can move you from the sleepless ‘loop’ to which your mind has become ‘stuck’ on, to a better pattern of sleeping. Insomnia Hypnotherapy will also address any stress which may be contributing to your negative sleeping pattern, so you are feeling calmer, more relaxed and in control.

Insomnia can be identified as a habit, along with any other behaviour, the good news is, all habits have the possibility to change through Insomnia Cardiff Hypnotherapy.     I look forward to helping you too, to get a good night’s sleep…
